What animal would you be?
Posted about 1 year ago Being an artist, what manner of animal or animals would you be. You can be more than one, being that artists we are far from simple creatures. Some suggestions, a dragon, snake, dog, cat, scorpion, spider, hawk, owl, sparrow. You choose, but if you choose more than one, limit to two or three, two being preferred, and of course you have to explain why. You just can't leave folk hanging. | Posted about 1 year ago I Didn't want to include my answer in the question, so here it goes. Being a Playwright, poet and Artist I am a collection of a dragon, hawk and cat. I like to watch people like prey, the playful jester that I am I like to play with little curiosities which I know to be humanity. Like the Dragon and the Cat, they intrigue me, yet astound me with self consuming existence. I am often awe struck by the possibility of greatness that often overlooked because of self-wanting, so like the dragon I sit back and watch in secret as I come to gather treasures of wisdoms and truths. But when I am among them, I am the cat, who plays and paws at them in a hate love relations. But at last in my art I am the Hawk, because a hawk kills its prey one of two ways, by descending upon its prey and pinning it and spearing its heart with its beak or carrying up to great heights and dropping it, letting crash into the rocks. Thus going for the heart of the matter or using their own darkness against them. Thus the dark trinity of the jester at heart. A keeper and hunter of wisdom and truths that are all too often taken for granted. So I am mostly the Dragon and the Cat, with a little kitten in me. | Posted about 1 year ago Remember the thread: If you could do anything.... Well, I said fly, so I would need wings. Big fast powerful wings, not little flappy, oh my gosh this is sooo much work wings... so I'm thinking a hawk or an eagle for those incredible dives that follow soaring. Power and control and the joy of swooping, soaring and racing through the wind - Whoosh! It's why I like to ice skate(though I'm not very good) and roller coasters are awesome. Don't like prolonged upside down hangs however so a bat is out of the question. But I want the Whoosh! Then there is the incredible strength, agility, grace and elegance of big cats. Man that would be incredible. Cats are so self reliant and emotionally aloof. Maybe something like a jaguar, raw power combined with overwhelming beauty, they like to swim like I do too. But Scaramouche, that whole killing thing reminded me all too strongly that I am not like these great creatures I admire. I prefer the idea of power and strenth as a means of self assurance and prevention of need for attack and hostility, to be strong only for the event that there should be need to protect or defend myself or those weaker than myself. Truth be told, I think I most resemble a Labrador Retriever. A little too big, a little to loud, a little too bouncy and joyful, a little too goofy, and want to play, play, play? :) A little too careless (left physical or emotional mudprints across someone's floor again...hang my tail and my head, 'cause I'm really sorry) but for all that I am loving, faithful and loyal to my friends, I try to be kind and knock down fewer children than a Labrador's wagging tail does, LOL. And honestly, I think a good back scratching is very close to nirvana.... But on the wild side, I do like my beef and lamb rare... 8-) yum! You see, I can't help it, I'm just such a goofy Labrador! I'd rather make someone smile than just about anything. Probably not very inspirational, but, oh well, it's me. Each day is a gift, open it up and play with it! |

| Posted about 1 year ago I can't think of just one so I'd have to say it'd be a creature that dwelled in the ocean. Maybe a shark or a whale -- something that could go exploring. I want to breathe underwater! |

| Posted about 1 year ago well i have to say i certainly wouldn't want to be somebodies pet, been there done that for 17 years...plus there's always the humiliation of being neutered/spayed, yelled at for using the carpet as a toilet, then the ultimate, if they get tired of you, it's curtains....can't even voice your opinion.

| Posted about 1 year ago I would definitely like to be my pug dogs who certainly don't have to work for a living and don't have to pay taxes.....and certainly never get yelled at..or ....to be higher on the food chain, like a wolf would be ok, except a lot of people hate you and you have to hunt your food, but some humans think you are beautiful...even when you are scarfing down entrails... |

| Posted about 1 year ago Actually, Graffittimom is right, being a pet isn't so bad; I bet extraterrestrial aliens think that cats and dogs managed to domesticate the human species: we clean after them, feed them, clean them, and so on.. they just lay down, or play while we work, poop whenever they please since we will pick it up, etc... |

| Posted about 1 year ago I would be an eagle! I love what the eagle stands for, freedom! I guess cause i'm in the military. I remember going to the zoo once and seeing an eagle, but it wasn't doing much. The sign said it was hurt, its wing was fractured or broken, one of the two. Anyways, people just passed by it. I stayed, just checking out the rest of the cage, looking at all the other eagles. Then i noticed the hurt eagle started to move up the branch. Using its beak and claws to climb. I watched this bird, fight its way all the way to the top of the branch, it took like what seemed forever. When it got to the top, it pointed its head into the wind and leaned into it and spread its wings out. It was a very awesome image and a spectacular momment for me to wittness. It was like watching an image that stands for what we are, even though hurt, it fought its way to the top. Very Awesome! An Eagle, all the way! |

Tall, exotic, HUGE Heart, likes necking, other species like to hang out with them, most predators really think twice before attacking and often fail, tendencies towards suckling, resulting in tongue lolling and licking of objects in close proximity. | Posted about 1 year ago Silver back gorilla because they are large and powerful but very intelligent and peaceful. Looking into their face is just like looking into another person's eyes. I also really admire their dignity. Believe it or not, I can actually draw.

| Posted about 1 year ago So this lady is walking down fifth avenue wearing an expensive mink coat. An anti-fur activist approaches her and begins to lecture her. As she ignores him, he continues to follow her and finally asks her "do you know how many animals they had to kill so you can wear that coat?" Finally she turns toward him and says, "listen here mister, do you know how many animals I had to sleep with so I can get this coat???" |
