At my technical school, my instructor's specialty is print design. She told us that in order to really get a job in this field, it would most likely be neccessary for us to learn web design. I'm a fast learner, but staring at web design books in Borders is not my cup of tea. Are there any books that teach web design that are worth looking at? I would like to find some for Dreamweaver and so on that will really immerse me in designing for web.

CSS Mastery is a good book to help with web design. I am using it right now and it is really helping.

Garrick Chow's Hands on Training book and Lynda.com video lessons on dreamweaver have been very good. Suggest also the DreamWeaver CS3 Missing Manual; it's pretty indepth...Audy is correct too; as much as you can wrap your brain around CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) the better it will go for you....(And your teacher is entirely correct- need both skills in graphics today) Good Luck!
