I would love to hear the range of prices that some of you guys sell your work for.  Please include your medium and style of work.

I charge $300.00 for a single person, non-commercial portrait sitting.  commercial work is billed on the job per job basis since each is different.  have not sold a painting yet, but i was told to add up your expenses and multiply by 3...of course i was told that's for an artist just starting out...experienced artists should charge more.

For photography, I charge $40 an hour for my services plus the cost of supplies. Then, in addition to that there is a fee for prints, negs, etc.

My graphic design work I do on a case by case basis. Small commissions cost much less and are a fixed price. A logo, print and web layout, etc.  I charge an hourly rate for.

I get asked that a lot by clients and I always tell them it's really hard to say what my rates are. As an illustrator, the cost of an illustration really depends on the needs of the job - the complexity, usage rights, and time it takes are usually the major factors. Projects can range between a few hundred to several thousand dollars. I usually offer to help break down costs to explain budgets, or suggest alternatives if the budget is an issue.
