| Posted 4 months ago Art is a way of life. It's a way of seeing, and a way of doing whatever you're doing. You can do whatever it is you're busy with as 'prescribed', OR you can add do it with flair, and an eye to making it the best, and giving it some thought and beauty.

Posted 4 months ago Art is a way of life, but even more, it's a way of looking at things. I find artists see the world in a different way. We tend to be more present in the moment, noticing what is around us. I'm always looking at things, wondering how I would draw or paint this or that. Going back at the end of the day to photograph something I saw earlier but didn't have my camera with me. I think artists are deeper thinkers and are usually more complex. I guess that's why we get the reputation as being a little different. but that's ok. I'm always looking for different.

Posted 4 months ago You for sure have to have a mate that understands your passion, the time it takes away from him or her and the clutter. I find it hard to throw anything away since I'm into collage. I save everything! Art is a way of life and a well spent one.

Posted 4 months ago As one gets older one sees many more paths that could be taken. Artists sense within their own work that kind of swelling of possibilities, which may seem a freedom or a confusion. This is a quote from Jasper Johns....it fits into this forum.

Posted 4 months ago As artists, in whatever medium, we all look at things differently to people that are not creative. When we look at something we really do look - whether its form or colour or space we question what we see, ask why and don't accept things verbatim. Doesn't refining those skills and searching for answers make us more open and intuitive? We can't help but do this in all aspects of our life. You can't turn it off. In that respect being an artist is a way of life. "I leave when the pub closes." Churchill.

Posted 4 months ago I think art is a part of life and a part of our culture. We as humans have expressed our culture and folklore through art. Its almost a form of story telling. Live, Laugh, Love

Posted 4 months ago art is always a way of life has it drives the society that we live in. like my prof and others in this thread said, take a look around you. we help create and move others to see what the world has to offer. we just happen to be creators rather than viewers hehe. it's fun being able to take things that we see and somehow showcase our ideas to them.
