Because of the fact that I started this group I feel at liberty to post whatever the hell I damn-well please. I'd like to get some feedback on some lyrics from some of my tunes, maybe sparking some interest for my website, fiskworld.com, which is under construction. So thanks and feel free to post your own lyrics and whatnot, it's what we're here for. Right?

Ooo Wee

I'll sing you a story, I wrote it this morning

About living on hilltops so tall and so green

As I drink from a fountain on ole Misty Mountain

You can't smell the water 'cause it's fresh and it's clean

While pickin' wild tulips and sippin' mint julips

The Kentucky Derby plays on my t.v.

And I'd like to ride horses through obstacle courses

But that old apaloosa won't take kind to me

See she's scared of my pick-up, it makes her get hiccups

So she jumps over fences when she wants to feel free

Ooo wee, Daisy, I'd give you my heart for free

Now I work for a farmer, who gave 'way his daughter

To a mule ridin' cowboy who was caught in between

Rodeo clownin' and late-night booze houndin'

But said either way that he was livin' his dream

Now we sometimes eat fruit pies, and contemplate horseflies

The saddles don't fit and they aint got no tails

So I get the notion of seeing the ocean

All I need is a compass and a nice home that sails

Ooo wee, Daisy, I'd give you my heart for free (X2)

Pardon my mention, but I can't pay attention

The money's no good but it affords me to dream

So I'll take what I'm given, the way that I'm livin'

'Cause I know that city life aint quite what it seems

Ooo wee, Daisy, I'd give you my heart for free (X3)

What did you created first?.. the music or the lyrics? .....  I loved the last 5 lines.. after reading your metered counted lines I came to expect the tune but then comes the unexpected conclusion ...  a truthful statment so universal and wise :)  Great job ....

For several summers I worked on a river in Wisconsin, instructing and driving canoers, kayakers and tubers. I wrote this song over the course of a day while driving on the way to pick people up. I had the melody in my head so the guitar part came easy later. It's as close to a country tune as I've come so far. Funnily enough, the most requested.

It'll be on the website, eventually. I have about 30-35 originals that are being/will be recorded and available to listen to, as well as a short film. Believe me, I'll let you know.
