One Man Show/Brokencolor/Oroville

Posted 4 months ago I have a show up at a local coffee house/internet cafe in Oroville CA. I was not interviewed, so the following short article is a little garbled in respect to my approach to painting. However it appeared on the front page. Some publicity is better than no publicity. Oroville does not have many places to exhibit, although the local art group is working on it. I usually show in galleries in nearby Chico. I had a one-man exhibit there in January. I can't show nudes in Oroville, but I can exhibit them in Chico. Here is the article: |

Posted 4 months ago One of the fabulous things about this website is that I don't have to go out to California to view your work. I can enjoy many of your wonderful paintings without even leaving my chair! It's great!!

Posted 4 months ago Congratulations on the front page and getting your work out there! Bloom where you are planted and when you can take your show on the road :) Great job! Oh look, there are points all over the ground! They must be worth a lot if they are so easy to pick up. ;-)

Posted 4 months ago Thanks for the feedback and kind comments. Besides Chico, I have also been in one man and group shows in the Bay Area and other parts of California. I've been showing in the "boondocks" of No. CA. since I now live here, and although it is in some ways conservative, there is an art presence. I do miss the Bay Area art scene (I lived there for 25 years), but working up here has its compensations.

Posted 4 months ago First, congrats on the show! Second, I've done a couple shows at a coffee shop here in NY with the same brick walls, looking at that photo in the article I'm thinking... that looks like it's here lol Third, honestly I've never really been a fan of impressionism but you're making it grow on me... your colors seem so much more vibrant than I'm used to seeing in that style. Ink, Steel and PMS, that's what little girls are made of

Posted 3 months ago Thanks for the feed back. Even though the show took was mounted in a small town. It did have a lot of viewers, and I have gotten good feedback, and a higher level of recognition in Oroville and nearby towns (Chico) . I noticed the numbers of visitors to my gallery increased. When just I asked the papers in the area for publicity for art classes I am teaching, they were aware of my name. Although this might also be because I have been active in one-man and juried shows in the area.

Posted about 1 month ago Thanks Audy. I'm sorry the article here is no longer viewable. The paper changed viewing policy with new ownership. I do have an article from a magazine about an aspect of my work in an album on my site. I will also be posting views of shows I've been in. If people have not viewed my home page here lately, I've added a few things. Maybe I'll post this article about my one man show there as well. Here is a link to a recent magazine article about my painting:
