How can you choose? I can't narrow it down. I get obsessed with an artist and then after I find out all about them, I move on and get obsessed with someone else. :)

Just a question for the Andy Warhol fans.... I've seen his work and I have to say that I'm not a fan, but why each to their own. But why do you like his work, what intrigues you, is it more his life or is it his 'art'? Just wondering.

His sketches and illustrations were awesome, not just the iconic soup cans, cows, and marylins people think of when they think of him. he made art for the masses.

Vincent Van Gogh. The reason: He was the first to paint his raw emotion in recent history. He revolutionized the way we paint today. He only sold two paintings in his life time, and he wasn't recognized for his artistic merit. He still painted with all he had. What a champ.

I love Alexander Calder because, of all the artists I have studied, he is one of the best and most innovative, AND he was a great human being, took delight in life, not a nasty bone in his body, unlike many other great artists who were not great people, for example Picasso.

There are many artists who I admire and who have influenced me. One who comes to mind is Pierre Bonnard. I think he is sometimes under appreciated. His work is visually stunning, but he also had a crafty eye for composition.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us who ever did these drawings in the chauvet-pont-d'arc cave; mind blowing that the need to draw dates back this far
