During the holidays, I traveled with my husband to Arizon and visited the famous Arcology site- Arcosanti. Frankly, I was very disappointed. Let me know what you think if you know about this project.

Unless you are seriously into this sort of thing, I'd say that he owes you AT LEAST a weekend in Cancun, and maybe a trip to Jamaica (good luck if you can swing it.)

The project itself, outside of a quick Google search, seems kind of EPCOT-esque, but without the rides and infotainment...http://www.cnn.com/TRAVEL/NEWS/9806/02/arcosanti

Have fun in Cancun.

Well, the site was started in 1970s, the idea was to be an energy-efficient, self-supported community with 5,000 residents work and live in Arcosanti. I saw the brochure while I was in Arizona, and decided to check it out.

Honestly, I was very disappointed after my visit. After 30 years, the site still only has about 20-30 residents, the max is about 100 at one time. There is only two wells on site, and they are just finally installed the solar panels. The building was poorly built. You lived and eat together. It is like a communist community. I don't want to be rude, but I think it is a 60s byproduct.
