Being a poor college student, I usually buy acrylic tubes that are on sale, which can lead to them not being as thick of a paint as you would like. I found that taking the thinner acrylics and mixing them with gel medium provides a nice foundation to then work with. Also, make sure you get a clear gel medium so that it doesn't alter your hue.

I recommend you buy Liquitex acrylic paint . With the money spent on gel and the money you spent on bad paint- you could probably be better of for it. Dennis

You can get paintings, prints, t-shirts, and many other items with my artwork on them at:

Liquitex offers alot of versatility. You can use thick gel like strokes or dilute it to create a thin coat

The Liquitex paint in the bottles is good, it's diluted a little. I add a little distilled water to the paint and mix it. I use distilled water, as to make sure I don't have any chemicals from the hard water.
