Description:

The Oil Painting Medium. Improves flow, increases gloss. Add directly to color or thin with "Grumtine," which I've never used. Mixed with turp is the best medium for oil once you've got a nice, dry i.e. turpentine only, background. When used excessively it creates that 'waxy' look that seems so familiar on canvas. Used even more excessively, it will run according to gravity versus how thick you paint.

I'd give it 10 stars if i could. Turpentine is important but without linseed oil, you've just got a bunch of crushed pigment colors with no binding. Try eating soup without water and you'll know what i mean.

I prefer stand oil in painting mixtures, but linseed oil is a quality product.

This medium does improve flow, but the glossy finish it gives is awful. I've tried thinning it, and using it other different ways, but it still leaves too much "shine" for my taste! - Brennan
