Im not a fan of DVD comcorders. They hold about 30 min worth of footage, and are horrible for video editing. Try to firewire the video in to Avid or final cut editing systems and you are in for trouble. I tried out a DVD comcorder once, and will never do it again. If you eant to make a home movie that looks like an amateur did it, buy a DVD comcorder. If you are a filmmaker, stick to the mini-dv.

I provide a rarting of 3 stars here because, in spite of the market place being glutted with video cameras of all sizes, shapes, storage capabilities and a steady increase in the mega pixel capacity, the industry maintains a rather steep price point across the board on both good and not-so-good quality video cameras. I am not sure but I would suspect that this is due to greed and the ability to fix their prices and maintain them at that level.
