Canon always rolls out many of their newest technology in their Rebel Series and this camera is no exception. Last year I was still waiting for the 40D to come out and bought this as my main camera until the 40D came out. The Rebel XTi was to be my back up, but I think I might wait a while on teh 40D as this camera has been great for all my assignments including weddings and commercial work. It is a little bit on the small side so I bought the battery grip to make it look and feel more like a "professional" camera. People expect that and when atached to a stroboframe I have never had anyone doubt that it was a great camera.

I did not get the kit, but I do use a Canon rebel XTi. I really do love this camera. on the auto settings, it is easily the most accurate digital I have used. It is easy to learn, and the software that came with mine is great for quick adjustments in RAW format as well as simple batch processing.

Back to the camera. I love the versatility and durability this onehas shown. True, it is not a professional body, but it has stood up very well to the nearly 20,000 photos I have snapped since I got it in March.

It has a wondeful feature called dust delete. So if you have that project coming up that absolutely MUST be sharp and clear, it takes a moment to set the camera to compensate for it.

I just go mine recently. This is a great tool for photographers, designers and traditional animation artisans alike. I can hardly wait to use this camera for animation-pencil tests and even final stop-motion claymation. The pictures I've taken so far are unbelievably crisp. I currently use a late model 5-megapixel Olympus at work for product shots as well as final photo shoots and compositing for packaging/print. This camera will be used likewise but at much better effect. Great tool at an affordable price. Digital is come to age even more so now.

The BEST camera I ever had ! Not that I had many of them(about 3 before this) :)
Love it's capabilities, the quality it provides.
I bought it in the "kit" package - body + 18-55mm lens. Not very keen on the letter but it's better than nothing, right ? Also bought the 70-300 IS lens - much better everything !

Excellent camera for both pros and shutterbugs. It's easy enough to use for the hobbyist and has great features for experimentation and making great pictures for pros. Lot's of lens options and most come with software that let you save custom settings to your camera. I got the camera body, lens and a 4GB high speed CF card for less than $600.

It's a really great camera. I love that it's lightweight and easy to handle, not bulky at all, I can take it anywhere with me. I love that it can switch between fully automatic and manual, so it's just like using a film SLR camera, which is what I first learned to shoot on.

I absolutely love this camera! I can take all the shots I need, the controls are easily accessible and over all the camera is lightweight and has low noise in the shutter. Once you master the controls, there is no excuse for missing another shot.

I LOVE this camera. i cant begin to tell you how upset I was when I first got it only because I had no understanding of SLR cameras and how to use a good lense. I've done the homework and the shots i get out of this camera are honestly priceless! Great camera!!
