This is my prefered typ of oil because there is no need for expencive and smelly chemicals to clean up. it cuts the effort and time of clean into 1/4 the time of traditional oils, and they are every bit as good as other paints. once dry they are the same.

Absolutely LOVE working with these. great for working somewhere between the speed of acrylics and the richness of oils with the ability to manage drying time rather easily. Love the fact that i do not have to use solvents.

When I first bought this product I was a bit skeptical but after doing my first painting with them found the result to be great. It's hard to get the same flow as you would with traditional oil paints as I work in large scale, but not having to deal with the burdensome task of using turpentine, paint thinners and other wonderful poisonous materials to clean up was a breath of fresh air - both figuratively and literally!

I developed allergies and sensitivities to toxins so when I wanted to try oil painting these paints were the only water-based oils available at the time. I immediatly fell in love with them. After using acrylics for so many years, I found that Winsor & Newton Artisan Oils handled much like acrylics with the addition of blending unlike acrylics. My oil paintings are vibrant and rich with color. I"m happy to recommend these to anyone with allergies or not!

At first I was skeptical about using them. I like the complete difference of oils and acrylics, including the mediums and solvents used. After trying a few studies with water-mixables I have found that I love them. Not only do they blend and texture like oils but you are also at peace of mind that you are not using turpentine.
