| Description: | Soft Body Artist Color, previously referred to as Medium Viscosity, was the original Liquitex acrylic formulation first made in 1956. An extremely versatile artist paint, creamy and smooth with a concentrated pigment load producing intense, pure color. The creamy smooth, pre-filtered consistency ensures good coverage, even-leveling and superb results in a variety of applications and techniques. 94 Professional Color Spectrum. Heavy cream consistency. Even leveling. Extremely versatile formulation for most fine art and decorative art techniques. Retains little or no brush marks. Ideal for flat, large area coverage and fine line detail. Professional grade colors for decorative painters are also available. |
I like the weight of these paints. They are thin and smooth, and allow you to work by slowly building up layers while retaining good coverage. They give a nicer, fuller look than inks or liquid acrylics and thinning down heavy-body acrylics to achieve this consistency dilutes the color, so its not the same. I was turned onto these by Dave DeVries, and now I use them for almost all of the illustration work I do.
Acrylic paints are awesome, use them...
fluid and longevity
I like to use these for my students - good performance and great value
i think this one is good.ill try it sometime
these are great acrylics - easy application, color fidelity. mixing colors can be a problem (as i suppose is the case with acrylics, generally), and fast drying allows little time to work the paint on canvas. however, they do well in creating washes and are thick enough to achieve opaque colors, even light over dark colors.
My local Artist shop put me onto these several years ago when they first stocked them, their versitility is amazing when used with their other medium enhancing range.
