I use these legs but with a vary different head. I really love everything about the legs except I do wish I bought the three segment as there have been times when I've needed to be higher. I am not a fan of any ball heads but I know many who are. With the head I use panoramas are not only easy there are markings in degrees on the base of the head so you can be precise on your position of the next shot. However I do have a kaiden VR head for doing panos so I rarely use it for that. I agree that one of my favorite features of the tripod is being able to position the post horizontally and I do it often when shooting product. another feature that is really cool is the legs go out completely parallel to the ground and the post unscrews leaving just the head so you can go vary vary low to the ground. but really the ability to use different heads is a must as there is a whole world of tripod heads out there that each excel at different uses
