this varnish is amazing. I have worked at several museums and have had conservation training about materials. This is by far the best most archival varnish available. It has a guarantee rate of 100 years of 100 percent UV protection = 30 straight days of direct sunlight. I tested this myself on some ink I knew was not very lightfast and put it out in direct sunlight during the summer for a few days. Not a bit of fading- for a neon ink! Also, the varnish doesn't yellow (or go white and opaque, as do some varnishes over many years) and is removeable if you put an isolation coating on top of your work before applying the varnish. The only downside is that it takes a while to cure, and during and even after the curing phase the surface has a memory- if it recieves contact when it is gummy it will often hold an imprint of the object you touched it with.
I have used this and other Golden products, especially their varnishes and find they give a lovely smooth finish to a piece of work.
