I bought the iLamp my first year of college in '02 it has been, and still is a great machine, but after 5 1/2 years and every possible upgrade (1GB RAM, HDD, duel layer DVD burner), I have out grown its performance capability and need a faster machine.
It can handle the CS3 apps admirably, however not all at once. Occasionally I have Photoshop, Illustrator, and dreamweaver open at the same time with acceptable performance.
Its major shortfall is the graphics card. The nVidia Gforce 4MX can handle some of the older 3D games on lower settings but they are playable eg. Wolfenstien, Halo, etc.
When I finally do replace it as my main machine Ill keep it for a jukebox/media server.
this was my college graduation present. definately glad i had applecare. also, survived being pushed off the desk by my cat.
This commuter is great and has been a wonderful workhorse among the media I work with.
