This lens is very clear and easy to use in manual. In a zoom lens, Image Stablilizer is a MUST I can't tell you how many shots it has saved since I got it! If you go to the "Moon and fireworks" thread, you will see a photo I took of the moon, holding it by hand with that lens. (Image was cropped to show detail)

This is a great zoom lens. Worth every penny!

I currently use a Cannon with 2 lenses. One is the IS lens. I am absolutely satisfied.

I love this lens. It works well in the field for nature photography without having to rely on a tripod due to the IS. It's also versatile enough to use a micro filter and take micro shots.

A great attribute to anyone who does nature photography or sports (from the stands or a distance) especially extreme sports that you can not get too close up too. It is extremely light weight and compact, amazing compared to the 400. I shoot investigation scenes as well and it does fantastic detailing. It is strong but lightweight and stable enough you do not have to have a tripod.
