| Description: | Blue Line Art's Regular Comic Art Boards serves as the traditional and economic paper as a long time stand by for the comic board industry. Comic Art Boards are specifically laid out with an image area for standard comic book design. These boards, like other Blue Line Art's art boards, offer areas for notations like issue number, page number, and date. |
Yes you could go buy standard bristol board . But Blue Line sets up your comic page with the correct size and helpful markings.
I'm not sure how the boards are now, but back when I was using them, I found Eon Production's boards of better quality. Still, these will get the job done.
Good quality. Great for what they are designed for. I never saw the Eon version, though -- but I guess that's because I have no complaints that would make me think to switch.
Honestly, I tried blue-lining my own pages, but each batch ended up being "off". They would cost be less, 60 cents on average, but take me 15 minutes a page to make. Blue-line costs on avg. 80 cents. It's worth the 20 cents to forget the hassle.
penciling was fine and I like the page already set up for me, but when I put the ink to it the lines bled slightly. an annoyance I don't need...
I haven't used Blue-Line paper in a long while (like a decade), but back then the paper was a little waxy, so brush work would bead up - -and with quill pen it bled, making all lines just a little fuzzy. I hope they've improved. I've heard Blue-Line also sells pre-ruled Strathmore pages -- but it's cheaper to just cut and rule my own - -besides half of the time pages need to be full-bleed format these days, so the traditional ruling doesn't help much.
Lay out helpful, but not much good if ink bleeds.
