Do you need gold trimming in your bathroom? Do you have to have the latest D&G threads. Do you really need The iPhone. The answer is not blowing in the wind my friends. The Answer is NO!. Are you doing ANY type of serious photography? Are you a studio photog? Do you work for the local paper? Are you a high end Fashion Photographer? Do you NEED the 24-70. The answer is yes!!!!.
This lense is the ultimate workhorse. If you are a person who perfers primes to zooms. Please exit from this review "Magna Cum Celeritate". If not pull up a chair. This oddly enough was the third lense I purchased after my 70-200 f2.8 and the 17-40 f4. For a shutermite like myself primes are not practical. My job description changes daily. I need lenses that can do the same. There isn't a better lense for the money out there. I recommend this lense to the person who does not do a lot of flash-work and who is constantly in low-light situations. You can also utilize the low apature for amazing effects. Before you consider adding a weak link to your phalanx go to B&H and check this warrior out.

This is the lense that lives on my camera. Its hard to beat. There are a few things that I wish it had. That is, less weight and an image stabilizer like its 24-105 brother. Other then that... Its a beauty! And always remember.. once you go f2.8, you never go back!
