This program can handle anything that you want to create with it. From precision modeling of architecture, machinery and textual graphics, to the soft modeling of nature and cartoons.

3DS Max 8 made significant leaps forward even beyond version 7. For modelling structures and game props, it's very easy to use. Its industry standard interface and worldwide usage help make it the best tool of choice in its price range.

Extremely flexible program that can be used for multitudes of applications (gaming, film, etc). Interface is not too difficult and modeling is very easy. The tutorials help a ton with understanding the basics.

Easy navigation, and an excellent beginning software for rigging and animation.

This program is the fastest and most appropriate modeling software for Architectural Presentation/Visualization. In my personal experience, it can complete a majority of modeling in a quarter of the time it would take for Autodesk Maya. Vray is also a much faster rendering engine than many of Maya's engines. Many advanced lighting for Maya requires a lot more labor, including but not limited to Unwrapping all surfaces.

I have been working in 3dsmax for 5+ years, and look forward to many years in the future.
