This tool is just about the coolest thing I have ever used! Revolutionizing the feel and control for computer artists. Doing fully digital pieces is a jiffy with the cintiq. The pressure sensitivity is great, I used a 15 inch cintiq for 3 years and sometimes it felt like I was trying to draw with a tree branch dipped in ink, so little pressure control, but the new 21 inch feels like I am drawing with a nice brush dipped in ink. Having a Cintiq saves me so much time in the workplace.
Is a Cintiq necessary? No,...but is it the most useful piece of art equipment I own? Yep. It can cut Three cheers for useful technology!!!
The screen is very large and high quality. I've had no problems with scratches on the screen. It has without a doubt improved my the speed and quality at which I can create digital paintings. The screens ability to rotate and change angles is very handy. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it's too heavy to put in your lap and the screen gets rather hot. There is a little bit of parallax but the screen is so big that you won't find yourself working near the edges very often so it's not too much of a problem. Dual monitors didn't really work well with it since you'd be switching between a different device for each monitor so you may feel that you're losing some space using the Cintiq.
This thing is a dream. It is definitely the best piece of equipment I own. It has saved me time and it is a blast to use. If you are a professional and you draw or paint a lot and want to go to the digital side this is the best tool to use. Great control and response.
I like these Wacom Cintiq tablets because they are a touchscreen, and when connected to a computer loaded with the Celsys, Inc. -STYLOS - 2D animation software, great things happen. Also, for doing Photoshop, it's excellent for tonal and texture artwork.
