When I can't use a dip brush (Winsor Newton Series 7) and ink, I turn to the portable Pitt Brush Pen. Nice solid black, and the tip has a nice firm feel, just nice enough to get a good thin brush stroke.

I tried the Sakura Pigma brush pens, but felt the tips were too soft and pliable, and the black was a little watered down.

I give this item 4 stars because I find the tips on all these felt brushes get frayed pretty quick, but I found a solution via an artist on youtube... should add a few more drawings to your pens life.

These are the finest brush pens I've encountered and they are great for expanding your doodles. These pens are super and the range of colors works for me. I use the brush pens when I want to draw/paint but don't want to get up to get water or clean brushes. Great for the lazy artist!

This is where Faber-Castell excels. Their brush pens enable technical ink work to become a reality. Good range of colors. Almost replaces the need for brushes and india ink but you still need those for bigger projects.

i too have been working with these. i love the way they handle. I have been experimenting with markers and pens on canvas and they hold up very well.

Sorry guys, but I just can't agree with ya'. Gooberita said it best... they're great for expanding your doodles. Other than that I don't like them. The tips are too small to be useful for most things, especially blocking in color. Pentel makes a brush pen that is leaps and bounds better than these and is much more akin to using an actual brush & ink. Plus it has replaceable ink cartridges which even takes them a step further. They're tough to find though.

I really love these pens for inking comics and illustrations that need bold or fine outlines. They're easy to control and hold up fairly well. I use only the black/gray ones so I don't know how well the colors blend or work. I still use prismacolor for most of my color marker renderings. Decent price!
