| Description: | These passionate, often surprising, intimate records, kept under lock and key for some 40 years in Mexico, reveal many new dimensions in the complex personal life of this remarkable Mexican artist. The 170-page journal contains the artist's thoughts, poems, and dreams-many reflecting her stormy relationship with her husband, artist Diego Rivera-along with 70 mesmerizing watercolor illustrations. |
Frida was a very inspiring artist she, continued to excel after a terrible tragedy.
This diary gives us a real view into the mind of this incredible artist. We are able to see her thought process, and feel the weight of her emotions throughout the events that shaped her life. Even if you cannot read spanish, the power in her pieces speak volumes. There are translations in the back of the book, but I have never read them because I feel like I would almost lose something. This diary is an amazing piece of artwork in itself, and I read through it whenever I need inspiration.
After reading a few pages, I just couldn't anymore. I felt like I was invading her privacy.
But, I read on, and it is one of the most beautiful books I have. I recommend anyone who adores and love Frida to get this book.
