After my SB-600 blew up during a fashion show (read the fine print in the instruction manual about the number of full discharges before shutting off) I purchased something wtih more power. I use it for nightclub and fashion shoots. It does everything I need it to and more. Plus it is the only flash I'm aware of that has a USB port for future firmware upgrades. The Nikon SB-800 is a fine flash I'm sure but after blowing up my SB-600, I decided to go with a Metz.
