| Description: | Bryce is an award winning, fun, feature-packed 3D modeling and animation package designed to allow new users to quickly create and render stunning 3D environments. Bryce combines exceptional power with an innovative interface for incredible ease of use. Add wildlife, people, props and more to your scenes via the DAZ|Studio character plug-in in addition to terrain, water, sky, rocks, clouds, fog, vegetation, and architecture for which Bryce has long been the standard. And now in version 6 you can bring unbelievable realism to any scene, new or old, by incorporating HDRI-based lighting into your environment. Combine that with the ability to import animations via DAZ|Studio (included free), and you'll experience a whole new world of possibilities in Bryce 6. Order Bryce 6 today and see for yourself why Bryce is still the first name in 3D landscapes. |
I've worked with Bryce ever since version 2.0, back when it was still being supported by its original creators, Metatools. With version 3 the company changed their name to Metacreations, but by version 4 they sold Bryce to Corel. Corel updated the program to version 5.0, then sat on it for a long time without any further updates. This was unfortunate, and almost killed Bryce, but back in 2004 DAZ Productions bought Bryce from Corel, and it has been a wonderful uphill climb for Bryce ever since. The folks at DAZ have taken Bryce through versions 5.5, 6, and now they've updated it a bit more with the current 6.1. They are faithfully working on the ultimate upgrade to version 7, which will probably come out some time in 2008. Bryce interfaces nicely with their free "Poser" style program, DAZ/Studio, which is equally recommended. While Bryce has been noted for its "quirky" interface, I've personally found it to be marvelously intuitive, and prefer that interface over any other 3D software I've ever worked with. Bryce has the distinction of being both fun to work with, and capable of rendering up beautiful results. It's also a great deal less expensive than just about any other 3D graphic package, while yielding truly professional results every time. Even with its great price, if you join DAZ's Platinum Club, you can buy it at a better discounted price. I've used several different 3D program tools over the years, but by far my primary 3D program of choice is Bryce, and no doubt always will be. It is now available at DAZ Productions web site: http://www.daz3d.com/index.php?refid=934236843 Once you get to the site, just click on the banner button "3D Software", then "Bryce Software", among the buttons on the left.
If you've ever wanted to get into 3D graphic art, but were intimidated by the pricey software, or the complicated interfaces, then Bryce would be a great place to get your feet wet for a low price, an easy intuitive interface, and professional output.
Very easy to use. Great realism in Renders
Bryce is one of the first 3D programs that I ever used starting with Bryce 3.. That version was called Bryce3D and was made by Erik Wenger and was simply amazing.. It hit a slump when it was taken over by Corel who refused to support the program and it almost DIED from neglect from the company. It was originall made for the Mac Computer format and Corel wouldn't even make a Mac Version which upset a lot of people but even then people who were hardcore Bryce fanatics kept hope and petitioned Corel and went so far as to BEG Corel to keep making Bryce and not let it die. Corel finally decided that it's best course was to sell it and it went to Daz3D.. Daz is one of the finest companies for the users of 3D style programs and was a major contributor to Poser resources for Poser so they knew 3D.. Since they have taken over it's developement this program has done nothing but get better and better in leaps and bounds.. They completely refurbished the mac version and increased the speed of it's rendering engine till it has become one of the finest 3D programs again.. Bravo to Daz and Bravo to Bryce... I would rate it 10 but all they allow is Five stars.. this is a must have for most 3D artists and even after so many imatators it is still one of the best in my opinion..
Bryce 6 is a wonderful landscape generating application. The interface is very intuitive and the learning curve is medium. But it doesn’t just do landscaping; with the final release of Daz Studio from DAZ Production it is now capable of transferring objects directly from Studio into Bryce with a click of a button. That coupled with the introduction of HDRI lighting capabilities in this release gives Bryce the ability to render photorealistic pictures of almost whatever you desire. Also new in version 6 is the ability to export models created within Bryce into many of the popular 3D formats.
Anyone who has used Bryce since its second version will love this one.Corel released their own version of Bryce;recently to Bryce 5.5 and 6.But the one thing that makes DAZ3D's contentcreators's Bryce 6 is the awesome addition of DAZ plug-ins.Apart from the run of the mill Tree labs,Terrain editors etc. DAZ3D version is far better because it has the advantage of support of OpenGL and DAZ engine and the excellent tools for adding, importing props, textures and creating scenes of awesome realism.Corel's version has certain limitations but DAZ3D Bryce 6 is a must for all Sci-fi,Realistic landscape,Sceneraio with characters, props etc creators.Very good tool for all the 3d artists.I love it.
This is a great program. I have been using Bryce for many many years. they keep upgrading it to make it even betrter then before. I just wish there could be a wave lab and a 3D cloud control lab. I like the tree lab, but I don't use it much. Bryce has alot of extensive features to use and the possibilities are endless. i also import .obj files into Bryce from poser and 3D Studio max. Bryce is among one of my favorite programs to use, along with Vue D'espirit and World Builder. You will be satisfied beyond your dreams with this program. The animation part is awesome!!!
Very intuitive contols. So easy to use even for beginners in 3d imaging. A must have when u need to create 3d environments.
I'D LOVE TO DO ANIMATION, I'M A 3-D OBJECT LOVER, SO AS SOON AS I CAN I'LL GET THIS ONE, SPECIALLY BECAUSE I HEARD A BEGUINNER WOLD'NT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT....
I am not sure what to think or rate it.....It sounds great but I need to use it first!
Bryce is a great software. I use it since v. 2.0. Although it's not taken sometimes seriously because his ability to quickly render a medium landscape, it is awesome in terms of terrains and many other features added with many versions. Its terrain editor, and those procedural textures environments, have not been surpassed yet.
Greatest program i have ever used. Daz has been doing great and this program's only limit is your imagination.
lovely interface. an improvement over the previous version. Not perfect because it does sometimes choke on rendering/modelling complex scenes.
