Amazing image quality, advanced creative capabilities and fast shooting speed make the Nikon D80 ideal for people who want to move up to the versatility and quality of an interchangeable lens Digital SLR camera but who do not want to give up the ease-of-use which a point-and-shoot camera provides. The Tamron 28-80mm is a terrific "walk-around" lens for landscapes, group shots and portraits. Its superior Aspherical optics provide improved image resolution from edge-to-edge throughout the zoom range. The Tamron 70-300mm is a high quality, compact, ultra-tele zoom great for sports, nature, candids, and wildlife photography. This versatile zoom also has macro capability with a magnification of 1:2 for incredible half-lifesize close-ups of small objects such as flowers, insects, jewelry, coins, and more. |
My friend owns this model. I have used it numerous amounts of times.
I am happy with what comes from it.
It has amazing quality and is relatively easy to use.
The D80 is everything I need in a camera. Upgrading from the D70s, I was a bit weary of previous reviews stating the D80 had issues with exposure.
The first 30 shots I put the meter to the test shooting high contrast and low contrast shots. I put the SB800 on top of it and BAM! it was like magic.
The D80's menu and navigation tools are placed close enough to make adjustments on the go but far enough away as not to bump accidentally.
I'm extremely happy with my D80!
I just purchased this camera, and it's excellent for what I use.
Be aware, however, that many of the zoom lenses usually attached to the camera in most sales will not do well in low-light situations without a flash. I bought a 50mm 1.4 that seems to work for the most part where the zoom lens will not.
I love this camera.... i also use a D200 but it gets sooo heavy. I love the D80.
This camera is my baby. I love it so much. It always does a great job for me. I swear by Nikon.
i think that it deserves a rating is because it is really good carma that takes good pictures
Was a Canon and Sony user until the Nikon D80. Specifically: the D80 isn't flimsy nor is it too bulky; the viewing screen is a perfect size for me, the easy to use menu system is a plus, and finally, the images are outstanding. By the way, if you are interested in purchasing one of these cameras, try to get the kit. I'm from Rhode Island and have seen it featured in flyers for $800 or so.
Any Nikon camera is great, but this one is my favorite. I've used it on many occasions and it has never let me down. If your really into photography, then I recommend this camera.
I upgraded from the D50 to the D80 at the beginning of 2008. Both cameras sre amazing. I did not know I was able to take such professional looking shots. It came with the 18-135mm lens and I also bought the 70-300mm VR. The VR has helped me to get better shots of wildlife and of my dogs at play. I have not expolred the many different settings the D80 has available because the point and shoot capability has worked so very well. I would reccommend this model to anyone who wants to take professional looking pictures at an affordable price. (The price drop happened a month after I purchased mine)
I absolutely love my camera. The images come out wonderfully crisp, and its easy to navigate and understand.
