The Creo iQsmart1 is a color scanner with a trilinear 10,200 pixel imaging element, capable of scanning reflective and transparent materials (both positive and negative, as well as glass photographic plates) up to 4.5mm thick. The scanner has an optical resolution of 3,200 x 7,500 dots per inch (dpi), with an interpolated maximum of 7,500 x 7,500 dpi. Color depth is 48 bits, and the iQsmart1 has a maximum density of 3.9, coupled with a density range of 3.7. The scanning area is 12 x 18 inches (31 x 46 cm), and the scanner is capable of fifty 2.4" x 2.8" (6 x 7 cm) scans at 300 dpi per hour. Available immediately, the iQsmart1 costs US$8,500, and is targetted at professional photographers.
