I never really enjoyed drawing with pencils until a fews years ago. It was always pens or charcoal. After experimenting with a look that I really wanted in sketches for paintings, I realized that these were the tools I needed. For a value study they are a must.

I sketch with Faber pencils all the time. I have a set that like this that I keep in my bag all the time so that wherever I might be, I am ready to draw.

Great quality product, love the case to help keep me a little more organized and together so I don't lose my favorite pencils as often. :)

Good quality. A step up from the outhouse but still outside the gated penthouse that is Staedler.

Eh, any pencil will do when it comes to making art for me. But if you're going to get some snazzy ones, might as well use the Faber-Castel. They're pretty cheap when it comes to the sets.

Faber-Castel is with out a doubt the most comfortable pencil(s) I have ever used. It's as if the pencil is welded to my hand. I can't remember using any other art pencil in the past 16 years. Flawless product.

Good product, I use the whole range for various projects. I also like the British Rexal Cumberland Derwet Graphic series, and use other brands as well.

I have been experimenting with different pencils and charcoals and gave these a go. I found them quite enjoyable and nice price.

I was first introduced to this product about 10 years ago as a high school art student. Today, I still have a set. They're a really great investment as the quality of the pencils is awesome, and the range is perfect from very light to very dark. The metal carrying case can be a bit inconvenient at times, but now they sell the set in a canvas material like a soft pencil case, and that's what I use now.

I love this set because I have such choices for all my needs . For all tones, drawn lines and values this set gives me everything without having to hunt any other
    pencils. Great value too.

These are the only drawing pencils I use. I carry the case around with me everywhere. They are really nice quality.

I like the consistency of the leads in this pencil. If it says it is 2h, it is a 2h. If it says it is 8b, it is 8b. The lead is dead center, so when you sharpen it, it doesn't break the lead very easily. I would say of all the pencil products, these are among the best made and one of the basic tools a good artist needs on hand.

These pencils are my favorite! The range is all you need and the metal case keeps them safe... just enough room to keep a kneaded rubber eraser inside too (if you flatten it.) :)

I can get good results with the right pencils. They work miracles in the right hands.
