i hate looking for the perfect hues to work with and i am not one to take time to find a clean spot to draw off of, so this works perfectly for me when i in class or out side working on a drawing. for people like me who do not have time to find the "right" hues, the clear box allows an "at a glance" preview of the pastels. the only down side, they are not stackable, but fit nicely into a storage bag, drawer, or shoulder bags.
