About Me:
When I was in forth grade I wrote my autobiography. It started, "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and I squinted."………… God speaks, the light comes on and my life is reborn, redirected, changed, and transformed (just to name a few).………… One thing seems to be hardwired. I was created in the image of a wildly creative God. I will always be drawn to create. The pull is irresistible. If you like what I do, it's His fault.………… I have a degree in Fine Arts, with a concentration in ceramics and printmaking and a concentration in english literature from Truman State University. I've also spent enough time on stage that I'm a member of the National Drama Fraternity–with such roles as Othello and Mr. Toad under my belt.………… I love to write and was encouraged to seek a career as a literary critic by my college english professor. (There just aren't enough hours in the day.)………… I've been married to Carol for almost thirty years. (Her maiden name was Button and her maternal grandfather was named, William Patrick St. Clare O'Sullivan McCune. Guess what color her hair is?)………… I have three children; red headed; brown eyed; all artists. I have a granddaughter named Charlotte Sunflower Barr, who is just now beginning to run everywhere. You know that stage. Once they find their legs there's no stopping them.………… I've been a free-lance graphic designer/illustrator/writer for most of my career. We also teach pottery, painting, and drawing to children and adults out of our home. Our pottery is on display at Images Gallery in the Crossroads District of Kansas City.………… We are squinting once again. The light has come on and we are making plans to move to Paris to become artist/church planters in France. We attended a prayer conference there in 2005 and all I can say is, that in addition to being careful what you pray for, be careful whom you pray with. We're hooked. And everything we do now takes Paris into consideration.………… One more thing… I have Tourette Syndrome and Panic Disorder. Fortunately, I don't have the trouble with profanity that gets so much press. Verbal ticks; motor ticks; occasional panic attacks; fear of crowds; and I avoid noisy places. All in all a pretty normal guy.………… If you stop me on the street and ask me how I am, I'll answer, "Pretty ornery and pretty apt to stay that way."………… Oh, and we're trying to sell our house.
