Personal

About Me:
Creative expression through art is therapeutic and relaxing. I find that when I am drawing I feel more at peace with myself. When my work is going well, I am filled with a sense of satisfaction and achievement. Art allows me to use my creativity in a constructive way that helps me build my confidence and strengthens me as a person. My main goal is to develop a portfolio of artwork that conveys imagination and individuality. I am also using this time to study the marketing and business aspects of art. The internet can be a powerful tool to market and sell artwork. I am hopeful of gaining enough experience through personal prints and commissioned illustration projects to successfully freelance as a digital illustrator. Nothing will ever take the place of traditional art forms; but with advances in technology, art is entering into a new age. Presently, I use CorelDRAW and Photopaint which I am very comfortable with. Though I have experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I am not as advanced in those programs as I hope to become. Using a computer to create art allows me to make adjustments cleanly and efficiently. It gives me the opportunity to experiment with different color combinations and techniques to improve the quality of the piece. I work to create realistic abstraction through the use of color and simplistic shading. I use colors that compliment each other or variations of one particular color to facilitate the process of simplifying my subject. My curiosity for learning new things motivates my current work. I am exploring the possibilities of what my work can become. I am creating my own personal style that I hope will evolve into a unique technique that I can call my own.

The Wizard of Oz, Moulin Rouge, The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Notebook (I know, all chick flicks; but I do enjoy all types of movies.)
Favorite TV Shows:
Anything educational, CSI, Jericho, Numbers (though I don't really watch much TV)
Favorite Music:
I love all types of music from classical to country to pop to rap to well, you get the point, lol.
