Personal
- About Me:
- Formerly Chicago Based , spent winter in Moab, Utah and now residing in BoulderTown UT.
Intensely interested in mystical traditions, psychology, perception and the ability to reprogram one's cultural and personal perception.
Prefer the Visionary over the Traditional and maintain a non-Darwinian evolutionary belief in the progression and living change inherent in all things (Unity Minded Animist with intense leanings towards Sufism)
Artistically influenced equally by aboriginal art, surrealism, abstract expressionism, the synergetics and design science of R. Buckminster Fuller, Sacred Geometry and esoteric symbolism, the nature art of Andy Goldsworthy and natural landscapes in transition (erosion patterns and forms)
In the past I mostly use Windsor Newton Water Mixable Oils for painting (though i was not trained as a painter, but rather more as a designer and illustrator with original focus being on dry mediums such as colored pencil and marker) and have recently been moving more towards found object, multimedium, and sculptural nature art including grinding my own pigments and making mixtures utilizing geological sedimentary layers found in the Moab area.
I'm also creating location based temporary art with found objects in backcountry locations which are not frequented by most 'tourists'
Artistic areas of exploration include: painting, drawing, photography, carving/sculpture, photography, writing (novels and mystical poetry, philosophy, and cultural critique), music (mixture of electronic and live instrumentation)
