About Me:
BIO
  if only... is about beauty. if only... is about looking at objects in a new and interesting way. Growing up in small town Illinois, Jake Sorrill has learned to examine the everyday with a critical eye. As a senior at Routt Catholic High School, Jake has developed an extensive portfolio peppered with the things we see everyday - flowers, trees, animals - captured in a way that focuses on the object's beauty. Just as nature is beautiful, even the harshness of a cold urban street can have its own beauty.

  Despite being only 18, Jake has done work which reflects the insight and experience of more senior photographers. Accomplished at such a young age, Jake continues his work at the Imagine Foundation in Jacksonville, IL, where he has worked as a photography intern and as a gallery curator. At the Imagine Foundation, he has been fortunate to find an outlet for his art, and he has been able to showcase much of his work. He has also received two grants from the Illinois Arts Council for Youth Employment in the Arts.

 An admirer of arts in its many forms, Jake supports local musical groups, some of which he has photographed in a perfect blend of the two art forms. Jake's talents are not limited to the graphic arts; he is also an accomplished juggler, and the excitement and mystery of circuses is reflected in Jake's work.
