About Me:
I actuall consider myself a textile/fiber artist, because in addition to my "wearable/costume" art, I create wall pieces that I have professionally framed with (my choice) of frame, to compliment the piece created....being an extension of it. I lost my passion and ability to connect and therefore create, for years (life got in the way) and now I am back in the game....I'd love to find some performing artists and collectors, that would find my style appealling (bold, flamboyant, eclectic) possibly even used for use on stage or screen.....or just to exhibit my larger pieces in their homes as art hanging from the ceiling for the viewer to travel around the pieces and discover the journey before them. My wall designs can easily be incorporated into creative interior design in a home or any place of enjoyable viewing. Both my wearables and my wall art are created through a collage style and then the edges that meet and/or overlap are covered with embroidery, beading, trims, braids, etc....to create a flow without interruption for the eye to travel throughout, and see more each time they begin the process of following the design. I've created my own fabric manipulations over the years to further give my work a uniqueness to mark my style, and have written articles and have many written about me. My art career developed from the art of crazy quilting, which opened my "Pandora's Box" to the path it has taken. Originally from NY, the CA, FL, and now leaving Nashville after 2 1/2 years to return to S. CA! I have had my lifestyle/cultural influences that I believe come through in my work. I have never studied art history but have been attracted and self studied works of some of my favorite masters in all kinds of mediums, both long dead and thriving alive! :) I look forward to my arrival in CA in Dec so I can get my studio ready to release what ever new comes out from within. The Passion is BACK!!!
