About Me:
I have had a love affair with flowers as long as I can remember. While I pursued my studies in Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I always took a particular interest in botanical life. With a career in the commercial end of art and design for many years, I have expanded my creative & artistic interests with a culinary career. I studied & became a cake artist and designer of sugar flowers. My passion for flowers & nature has been expressed through an interest in gardening and landscape design. After years of hoping & wishing, I finally returned to fine art with oil painting. To create my photorealist style flower portraits, I usually photograph my subjects in an effort to capture the flowers at that very moment in time. I often enlarge and crop the photographs to find the subjects for my paintings. My greatest pleasure in the process is seeing a painting take life. I reside in the Northeast with my husband, & our two children. I started seriously exhibiting my paintings in shows about a year ago. Please feel to view my work also at www.beautyinbloom.com
