Personal

About Me:
I am a middle age woman that is happily married with 2 daughters (and 2 son in laws) along with a beautiful granddaughter. I have been an artist all of my life, but did not pursue a career (or go to school to study art) until I was 28 (I am a late bloomer). I love creating in a variety of ways whether it be art, my home, motorcycle or lessons to teach. I taught art for 2 years at the Flint Institute of Arts, then in public schools for 9 years. Sad to say the school that I currently work at has cut art in the middle school. But they did offer me another position, teaching the learning disabled. So I took it, hoping to bide time until the high school teacher retires (he has 30 years in right now). I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts (2d) and a Bachelors of Science (art ed.) from Univ. of Michigan along with a Master's of Art Ed. from Wayne State Univ. I am currently attending Saginaw Valley State Univ. in the masters program for special education. It's pretty crazy that I can't seem to get away from school considering that I had dropped out at the age of 15! Oh well, I am just going with the flow, and hope that all will come back around as I am sure that it will. And I am certain that furthering my education with special ed. will only be an asset in the future.
