About Me:
I was born and raised mostly in Taiwan. My family and I spent three years in London since 1990 while my father was a PhD student in Imperial College. After we went back to Taiwan, I continued my education in high school through college. I was interested in art since very little and started focusing in it since I entered high school artistic talented program in Taiwan. It led me to enter one of the most important art teacher institution in Taiwan and I focused on Fine Art during the four-year BA program. After a year of student teaching back to the high school I graduated, I prepared for Toefl and GRE for further education in the United States. Due to my professors' recommendations and my father's wish, I entered Penn State and studied Art Education. I became an assistant teacher of a K-6 charter school in State College while working on my thesis. I taught Chinese and Chinese Art to K-6 American students until June, 2008. I successfully received my master's degree in May, 2008 and I relocated to Horseheads, NY after marriage. I'm publishing my master's thesis named: Conversation In-Between Identities--A Reflexive Journey of Becoming An Art Teacher. (It should be available on Amazon in the beginning of 2009). This is a transitional period of my life and I'm working on becoming a career artist in the future. Meanwhile, I enjoy being my husband's wife, the starting of a new life, and volunteering at Corning Museum.
