About Me:
PLEASE NOTE: I displyed an image of a muslim woman that I took on while riding on public transport. Mny of you responded positively to this portrait. However, as I did NOT have her permission to make this photo, much less publish it, I hve removed it from my album with apologies to her and others of her faith. I regret any offense I my hve caused, whether she knew about it or not. - Amy McCormick I started as a narrative filmmaker (graduating from Temple University's Film School) and moved into documentary filmmaking after a year long trip to East Africa. I continued to practice documentary filmmaking as a volunteer with the Entertainment Industry Training Program in Los Angeles, while working full time with an arts related non-profit called Women In Film Los Angeles. I began selling my art work as a child, going door-to-door. I later sold my sculptures independently and in local galleries, which helped finance my travels to places like East Africa, Europe, and South America. Photography has also been a constant interest since being given my first camera as a teenager. I have a photojournalistic style. I moved on to visual journaling, particularly after becoming seriously ill and unable to work outside of my home. Though I did put together portfolios of actors' work while living in Los Angeles, in a similar style. I am looking to move back into a more formal work experience, preferably with a non-profit organization, as it combines my two passions, art and commuinity service.

I must echo what booboo59 said. You have a way of capturing the essence of a person on film. Beautiful work that goes with a beautiful spirit. I look forward to new images.

I am sooo touched and moved by your photo "Unity Day". After looking at much of your work it is stuck in my mind. The love, compassion and unity between the two people is awesome. I just can't get it off my mind. I see a lot of nice work here on artbistro, but every so often one just hits me in a special way and this one has. Thanks for sharing this image that like much of your work speaks volumes of the souls within your subjects.
