About Me:: Recently displaced Graphic Designer/Production Supervisor for an employment publication. I've always loved art and being creative. I've been an artist since I was 8 years old. I was always drawing or painting as a way of expressing myself. I enjoy working in all forms of art, from Fine Art to Graphic Design. In 1982 I took vocational Commercial Art at Willoughby South High School in Willoughby, OH. I graduated in 1984 with a Commercial Art Certificate. I didn't quite know what I wanted to be when I grew up and there was no money for college, so I got married, had children and worked various types of jobs while my children were small. I have done telemarketing, fabric store management, grocery stores, security guard and the inevitable waitress jobs. It was my first waitress job that helped me decide to go back into art. It has always been my true love. Unfortunately, in 1984 we didn't use computers. So, off to school I went. I attended Virginia Marti College of Art & Design located in Lakewood, OH part time while also working part-time as a waitress and eventually part-time at a local niche publication as the Assistant Production Manager, a position I was promoted to in less than a year. After 2 years, I was promoted to Production Manager full time and held that position for 6 years until the company “reorganized” and eliminated my position. I have received several awards while attending college, including President's Academic Achievement Awards and "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges". After 4 years of working, going to school and raising my children, I graduated Sum Cum Laude, an accomplishment I am most proud of. I hope I was able to set an example for my children that there is nothing you cannot accomplish if you truly want it.
