About Me:
Graduated AAC in '96 - did some storyboarding, character design, graphic design and fine art painting and drawing in SF Bay Area and LA for awhile - moved back East to NJ in 2000 - gradually moved into mural painting and interior decorative painting for a few years...now a little further North and back to more fine art drawing and painting - still doing the occasional graphic design - applying my creative skills to making a living has been varied and inconsistent - starting and maintaining an art business is a developing endeavor - diversions from a career path are easy to find when I'm uninspired - when I'm not inspired I'm delving into bio-chemistry, rehabilitative fitness training, diesel mechanics, skydiving and experimental food preparation. For mural painting I've used oil colors, Benjamin Moore paints, Tints All, and One-Shot sign enamels thinned with mineral spirits. Surfaces include walls primed with Zinsser primers, Fredrix primed canvases affixed to walls with clear wallpaper adhesive, and plywood cut with a jigsaw. The best oil paints and mediums are Gamblin because the company only makes oil paint and nothing else. Strathmore papers I find the best for dry media and color work. Arches cold-press watercolor blocks are outstanding. Black Magic India ink applied with brush or quill pens is the best I've used. Micron pens with the pigment ink are excellent tools. Pelikan makes my favorite watercolors.
